  • Notes

Covered with a profusion of clear yellow 1" flower heads mostly in spring but also in fall. Native in UT, W.NM, AZ, So. CA and NW Mexico. Low mounded form. Flowers mostly follow rains March-Sept. Leaves 2" long and 8" wide and light green. Native at 2- 5000'. Full Sun. Well drained soils. Supplemental water will increase flowers, but too much water produces fewer flowers. Does look straggly when older.
Dig hole, insert plant slightly higher than soil grade. Disturb root ball very little. No amendments, just native soil. No fertilizers. Backfill the hole .Water lavishly. Mulch top of soil around plant in a 4' diameter circle. - Bert Wilson Las Pilitas
