Common name:Blue Lavandin, Provence Lavender
Botanical name:Lavandula X intermedia 'Provence'

With tall, 24"-30" stems, 'Provence' has true, lavender-colored flowers that are fragrant and excellent for cutting. It flowers in early June and has large, grey-green leaves.

Palace Purple Coral Bells

This perennial will reach about 3' high and has large, brownish/red leaves with pink flowers that bloom in the summer.

Bearded Iris

Botanical name:Iris Bearded Hybrids

This perennial will grow 1'-3' tall and has medium sized, blue green leaves with flowers of different colors that bloom in spring. It needs well draining soil and full sun. Many are fragrant and rebloom several times a year. Plant rhizomes in Sept or Oct. They need water once a week during the hot spells. Top dress with compost and gypsum in January and August.

Western Redbud

Botanical name:Cercis occidentalis

This deciduous shrub or small tree reaches 15' tall and 10' wide. Beautiful magenta flowers appear in spring, before the leaves appear. Foliage is apple green , turning yellow to red in the fall. Seed pods dangle on this tree in winter. Western Redbud prefers full sun but will appreciate afternoon shade in desert areas. It needs well draining soil. It is drought tolerant once it's established. It attracts hummingbirds and butterflies. A tree of varying interest all year round!

Alstroemaria, Peruvian Lily hybrid

Common name:Alstroemaria, Peruvian Lily hybrid
Botanical name:Alstroemaria hybrids

The deciduous rhizomes of this Peruvian lily will often run aggressively if not controlled. They grow best in full to part sun with some summer watering in dry climates. The florist strains can reach 6' tall, while the compact strains range from 12-36". For extra long, florist quality stems, stake or grow through netting for support. -Monterey Bay Nursery
